Natural rubber latex
Natural rubber latex Natural rubber latex belongs to the thermoplastic synthetic resin of rubber type. It is characterized by high elasticity, good film forming performance during bonding, and flexible adhesive film. Therefore, the adhesive film has excellent flexibility, earthquake resistance, and creep resistance. It is suitable for the bonding of components under dynamic conditions and the bonding between materials with different thermal expansion coefficients.
Human beings began to use natural rubber latex as the binder long ago. Natural rubber latex is characterized by high solid content, good film-forming property, and the viscosity can be adjusted at will, but its aging resistance, oil resistance, chemical resistance, temperature resistance, and frost resistance are poor. Natural rubber latex has large cohesion and high self adhesion, but its macromolecular chain polarity is small, so it has poor adhesion with the adherend, especially the adherend with large polarity. Adding a certain amount of tackifier, such as vegetable oil, mineral oil, terpene resin, rosin resin, casein, starch, dextrin, etc., will significantly improve the polarity of natural latex and make it soft, thus improving its viscosity and adhesion to the adherent. If natural rubber latex is grafted with the methyl methacrylate, polarity of the molecular chain can also be increased and adhesion can be improved.
In order to improve the heat resistance, durability and aging resistance of natural rubber latex, it is often used as a base material after vulcanization.
