Wu Zunyou, director of the venereal AIDS prevention and control center of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and prevention, said at the meeting that China's AIDS prevention and control still faces two major problems: the problem of late detection after expanded testing is still serious; The infection rate of MSM continues to rise.

Wu Zunyou introduced that since the country launched the "four exemptions and one care", great achievements have been made in the prevention and treatment of AIDS. A global infectious disease report published by the lancet pointed out that the new infection rate and mortality rate of AIDS in China are at a relatively low level in the world. In terms of antiviral treatment standards, the number of CD4 cells in China increased from less than 200 in 2004 to less than 500 in 2014, which means that antiviral drugs were used earlier. The number of people tested for CD4 increased from 30458 in 2009 to 76240 in 2013. "Although the detection scope continues to expand, the problem of late detection is still serious." Wu Zunyou said that in 2009, 43.8% of all people who received CD4 testing had CD4 less than 200, while CD4 less than 200 means they are in advanced stage and treatment is very difficult. In 2013, this figure still reached 37.8%, while those with CD4 less than 500 reached 78.8% in 2009 and 79.8% in 2013. At the same time, sentinel monitoring results showed that the HIV infection rate among MSM population continued to rise from 0.9% in 2003 to 7.3% in 2013.

Wu Zunyou said that to solve these two problems, we should increase the publicity of early AIDS detection, continue to mobilize the strength of social organizations, and increase the detection of high-risk groups; It is suggested that AIDS testing should be routine; Publicize the epidemic characteristics of AIDS in China, strengthen the follow-up management of infected people, and reduce dangerous sexual behaviors and second-generation transmission; Strengthen the intervention, including condom promotion and HIV testing.

"The survey results of the sentinel in the MSM population showed that from 2008 to 2013, the proportion of the population who insisted on using condoms in the last six months was less than half. Therefore, it is very important to promote the use of condoms." Wu Zunyou said.
